I've been playing Guitar Hero again

Fun fact about me: I used to hate songs as a kid. Like, in general. The radio played and I'd be like uggghhh. I'm pretty sure my actual hatred was limited to songs with singing in them, but my dislike extended to music in general too, regardless of genre.

And then I played Guitar Hero. This must be when I was like, nine, ten years old. Those games rearranged my brain; I like music now. (As an extension, my musical taste to this day also veered to the rock and metal featured in those games. They feel homey.)

Anyway, a few days ago I suddenly got the urge to pull out the old PS2 (emulator) and play Guitar Hero III again. Nostalgia glasses aside, this game is actually really good, isn't it? Fantastic art direction. Extremely well-made maps. Faultless audio mixing. Incredible selection of songs. A fun way to tell their goofy-ah story (it's all lil wordless cutscenes). I want to snack on those user interfaces. I will mourn the loss of RedOctane forever.
