This is in response to someone on birdsite and likely indecipherable if you're not also an arknights fan.
The nonsense associated with the crown is just too far-fetched for me personally to care about. The premise is too shaky, like they can pile it up more powers and lore behind the scene to then strategically reveal to garner your sympathy. I don't like that personally.
Let's put it this way. I don't particularly like how Vina's arc is written but I care more about Vina being a shitty not-king than Amiya being haunted by ghosts, because you can see how shit Vina is at being a king here and now, while the writers can hide whatever ghosts are haunting Amiya and reveal them whenever they feel like it. I don't like that. I don't like how it doesn't develop through the story and instead something that the writers keep a secret for Plot Reasons.
(For the record, I would not like it either if Vina's Sigh of Kings is revealed to have important mystical power. I think its existence as a symbolic weight is more compelling.
And yes, Amiya is also struggling to be a leader but this is so far a lot less relevant than "the fated King who inherits awesome power" arc that she's going through)
This is not a judgment of quality as much as it is of taste. Some stories rely on spectacles, on twists and sleight of hands. They set things up and then reveal how they're tied together. Some stories are instead a progression towards something: characters developing to be better/worse, trusts gained or lost after being put to the test. Obviously a lot of stories, especially long ones like this one, are both, but I enjoy it when it's being the latter more than I do when it's being the former.
